Following a review of the FRA, it was identified that the ceilings to the stairwell and corridors extruding from them were not of a fire resisting quality and had a textured coating containing traces of asbestos. With the site being live and the tenants being elderly, it was decided by the client that with controlled working, PYROCHECK would encapsulate the textured coating with a suitable fire rated system to form the required compartmentation.
We also treated the timber cladded balustrade and replaced the NFR door sets to the stores on the escape routes.
