Fire doors (regulation 10) updated 24 July 2023 Regulations made under Article 50 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Section 3, para 3.3 Fire Resisting Doors (Fire Doors) are one of the most important measures to safeguard the means of escape from fire.<\/p>\n
Your Fire Risk Assessment should already have identified the doors in question and determined whether the doors are adequate to resist the spread of fire and smoke into, or within, the common parts. You should have already taken steps to maintain doors in a good working order, and where it has been found that the existing door is inadequate and needs to be replaced, this must be done by a competent person.<\/p>\n

After liaising with the responsible person, PYROCHECK carefully remove some door trim in an inconspicuous place to 10 percent of your door sets. This is to identify as to whether the correct fire stopping materials were used in the installation of your door set.<\/p>\n
Removing 10 percent allows us collectively to make a judgement call as to whether the rest of your door set\u2019s will require the same ongoing works.<\/p>\n
We also remove Locks, Handles, Hinges and door closer covers to ascertain whether or not the correct intumescent products have been used and whether or not your ironmongery is in fact fire rated.<\/p>\n

A Non-Intrusive Fire Door Set Inspection, is an inspection of everything our inspector can visually see. We inspect all moving parts to identify whether they are working, in a good state of repair and if they are fire rated. We inspect all apertures including glazing, letterboxes, air transfer grilles and even door viewers. We Check to make sure the door closes under its own power and that intumescent products are undamaged, we check that the perimeter gaps and that all parts of the door set that can be seen are compliant and within current regulations.<\/p>\n
